Pediatric Allergy & Asthma Patients
Serving Connecticut and Rhode Island children who suffer with allergies and asthma.

What Should You Expect When You Bring Your Child to See Our Allergists

You and your child will be greeted by our friendly staff and we will go through their pediatric medical history, allergy symptoms, any current medications your child is taking, and your family’s general allergy history.  The allergist will then examine your child. When necessary during the evaluation, other procedures may be utilized to make sure we find the cause of any pediatric allergy symptoms.  If asthma is a consideration, the allergist may perform a breathing test (known as spirometry) which typically involves having the child blow into an airflow measuring device.

Allergy and Asthma Services for our Pediatric Patients

Our Shoreline Allergy team offers numerous services to our pediatric base including:

  • Allergy testing (with modern, well tolerated techniques)
  • Medical advice to help your child avoid exposure to allergens
  • Immunotherapy (allergy shots)
  • Medications to help control allergies and asthma
  • Treatments for hay fever (allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis) or sinusitis, asthma (such as an inhaler)
  • Eczema and/or hives treatments
  • Comprehensive guidelines and plans for children and their parents to make everyone’s lives easier and other medical options for consideration

Our board certified allergists are not only physicians but are also caring parents who understand how difficult this may be for your child and this is why our staff will do everything possible to make your child feel safe and comfortable during their visit.
